Pappa John (& not the pizza!)

We love our Pappa John.

He always has the best stories & takes us on the most fun adventures. This time we only had him for a few hours; we were the pass thru not the destination. However, we always enjoy every moment we have with him. He is a school teacher and has always preferred being around the kids more than the adults. He always took us on adventures when we were young. We spent a lot of time outdoors and at the State Parks. Rarely staying on the beaten path. We once even got lost in the dark at Lost Maples. It was a little scary. We had no flash light or anything, just water. We ended up having to throw rocks out in front of us and crab crawl down so we didn't fall off a cliff. There was a point when my dad thought we might have to spend the night up there-but we made it back. It is from him I get my adventurous spirit and love for kids. (AND YES-I am adventurous-remember..I backpacked through Europe.) I may not seem to be that adventurous girl anymore, but she is still in there. Just a bit more cautious. I love my dad. I can't wait to spend a little more time with him on the return pass thru.

I hope we didn't hog all of your time with your dad! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Let's do some shopping when we get back...
