Rodeo Girl
I have always said R was my rodeo girl. She loves animals and is just very good with them. She is fairly fearless as well. Her true love is horses, but she's just a natural with all animals. Our friends let us come down and watch them shear their sheep last week at the local 4H club. I have seriously been considering getting some animals of our own and wanted to check things out first hand. The kids all had a great time playing with the animals. The barn was clean and very nice. We spent about 2 hrs. out there. Then they let us tag along with them to the Tarrant Co. Junior Livestock Show and watch them show their animals. They let all three kids participate in the Showmanship Competition. R won for her division. She got a trophy, ribbon and medal. It was great! She did good. I couldn't believe that they weren't shy at all. They walked out there and showed their animals in front of a crowd and all. The judge walks around all serious and asks you questions. I'm not sure I would have been so brave. I was very proud of them all. They are all very excited to care for an animal, work as a team and then compete at the Rodeo and County. Anyhow, it was a great experience and I am so thankful to our friends for letting us join them that day. I can't wait to get our own animals and be a part of the 4H club. I think it will be a great life experience for our children and myself..

The Lunch Box
I don't know what it is , but my kiddos are fascinated with lunch boxes and eating out of them.
They are just so cute I had to post some pics of them enjoying their lunches at school (home).
Well, if that is all I have to do to get them excited I am on board! I mean how can I deny them the pleasure of a sac lunch, right?
R was so sweet. She finished her work and I told her she could break for lunch. She sat at her desk with her lunch and then came up to me and said, "I am going to wait for E & C because, you know, lunch isn't too fun without them. "

Grocery Game
Okay if you haven't already heard of it you need to check into it. If you have heard of it, you need to start doing it! It REALLY works. The main downfall being it is now hard for me to buy anything without a coupon and of course it does take some time to get organized before you head to the store. You can do this with kids, (I usually have 4 in tow) and as I told them yesterday you need to shop with coupons when you grow up, I will teach you how. Of course it is much easier w/o them.
I have to admit I do love walking out of a store feeling like I just got away with robbery. I know in my mind that I have done nothing illegal, but still when I hand my stack of coupons to the cashier and watch my total come down by half or more I can't help but feel like I am stealing from them :) !
It is a really cool & fun way to save :)
Some of my latest purchases:
Kohls: 3 pairs of soccer shoes: $14.82 !! (no coupon just great deal)
Kroger: grocery bill : $67.95 - I paid $31.52 (too long to scan)
CVS: They basically gave me $$ to shop there
(here are a few samples of my receipts, I think if you click on them they will be easier to read.)
Anyhow, have fun shoppin!

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son
that whoever believes in Him
will not perish but have everlasting life."
Reese asked Jesus to come into her heart today!
What an amazing day today turned out to be. Years of seeing seeds being planted in her heart, nurtured by loving Sunday school teachers, grandparents, Aunts, friends and many prayers. Reese decided she needed to ask Jesus to come into her heart and be her personal Savior today. We were doing our history lesson, it was about different religions. We were talking about how different people around the world believe and how everyone believes in/worships something. We got to talk about what we believe and why. At the end of the lesson there was paragraph about "What happens when you die" it presented some thoughts on what people think and how different cultures handle death. When we finished up the lesson I closed the book and asked Reese what she thought happened when people died. It led to a wonderful conversation about life and death and our wonderful Lord. She immediately recognized her need to have Jesus as her personal Savior & Lord of her life. (I had wondered for some time when she would come to this point in her life as I am sure most christian parents do. She never seemed to really think about it. She sits through Bible with us each day, we pray for her and over her, she has been to Sunday school since birth, and sat through our Good News Club that met last year and gave a mini invitation each week - I never saw any indication that she was ready. Just seeds being planted. Who would have known today was the day!) We talked some more, I wanted to make sure she understood what she was asking. This was what she wanted to do. We went upstairs, sat on my bed and we talked about sin, what Jesus did for us on the cross, & our need for Him. We read the Bible and we prayed. It was a sweet, sweet moment.
It brings tears to my eyes because of how amazing God is...just last night I was talking to my dad about death. He had been to a funeral of a friend of his who died last week of a massive heart attack. The man was only 49. My dad was telling about the funeral and how touching it was. He told me how another man at the funeral spoke to him about how the man who died was with Jesus and this man expressed his own desire to be in his place, there with Jesus. My dad also told me how the wife spoke about her late husband being in a better place and happy. I really felt the Holy Spirit pressing me to say something to my dad -to take this opportunity. Never really easy for me, but the thought of losing my Dad has become very real. So I took the opportunity to speak up and not let fear keep me from it. He didn't want to talk about it and made it clear. He wasn't rude at all, I just knew not to press him. I don't know if it was too real for him or what. I was a little sad last night, not satisfied with still not knowing if I will have the chance to be with my dad again if and when his time comes. Sometimes I wonder if he will ever come around.....and then there was Reese, my sweet baby girl just a few weeks shy of 6, sure and ready and undeterred from making that commitment to God. Giving her life so easily and boldly, confidently.
I pray that my dad will come around and that he too can one day confidently and boldly profess Jesus as Lord and Savior of his life. Just like his granddaughter did today. I also pray that I will listen to the Holy Spirit and take the opportunity to speak to my dad about salvation each chance I am given.

Staycation at my mom's
Mix our kitty at Grandma Bootsie's

The kids just play outside all day when we go out to my mom's. This is their stray kitty that stays around the house. C took pictures of all the outside at my mom's house. She then showed them to me and told me she wanted the house we buy to have these things or "better" she said, "let's just buy Grandma Bootsie's house!" Yeah right :) ! Hopefully we can give here some of these things she wants..I wouldn't mind them either.
The kids were outside playing with my brother.
The first time I came out he had E, C, & R lined up hitting golf balls. He was teaching them how to hit a golf ball. It was like a mini golf lesson at the driving range. The next time I came out to check on them, R flew by me on this huge skate board! My brother was teaching them how to ride skate boards! It was funny. They had a great time. Thanks Uncle Serge! You are such a FUN uncle, we love you!

Whirl Wind
Well Christmas and all that goes with it is fading away..
It was a whirl wind holiday season that seem to go as fast as it came. I had the privileged again this year of hosting Christmas for my dad and my siblings. It is always special to be all together. Last year was the first time in over 10 years that we were together for the holidays. I am so happy that we were able to all come together again.
This Christmas I was especially thankful for my family.
Here's a look at some of the times we had together!
We celebrated my dad's birthday, he's 60 yrs and some young :)
Happy Birthday Pappa John!
Our sweet baby had her first Christmas...
We had tea parties, bonfires and fun with cousins.
Sleepovers, sword fights and all sorts of other great times with our family!
(...and I have just got to say it took awhile to recover from it all :) !! )
