Fun times at Christmas!
The kids each got to decorate a mini Christmas tree for their room this year. They were so excited.
Last year we did a "real" tree for the upstairs game room, I may still sneak one in..some in the house feel they have deathly allergies to real trees, but they did fine last year! I'm planning on having a real tree for my main tree next year,(I'll keep the fake one as a back up, in case I need to chunk the real one, you know in case someone dies of allergies, LOL!! okay, I am really amusing myself here, J does NOT think I am funny, he says "is that necessary?" - I say "it's my blog I can write what I want :) ) -I just love real trees - these fake ones stink! When I was little we would go pick our tree out & that was so fun! It's been 10yrs, we can try a real tree, right? See how it goes? I'm not mean, I won't make anyone suffer, I hate allergies too! -J says "you need to make it CLEAR that our real tree was only 3ft tall" & he keeps saying "C is a liar, C is a liar" - now that's mean! (yes, we are very childish- in case you were wondering)
ANYHOW..back to the fake trees- We had a lot of fun picking out ornaments and then putting it all together and lighting them up! It is cute to see them sleeping in their beds, in the glow of their tree lights :)
This is our Gingerbread house. Ever since I was little I longed to do a gingerbread house. I remember going to my Aunt Julie's house around Christmas and there would be a gingerbread house that they were working on, I thought it was so great! So, as an adult, I decided to start this tradition w/ my kids. They love it and so do I. We had such a wonderful time this year decorating and eating candy and icing while doing it! It turned out to be a great team effort and I think it is our best one yet! This is our 4th year to do it. All the kids had such great ideas and now we can admire it until New Years Day - that's when I let them eat it..which I think is kinda gross- but J & them have done it since the first year so whatever! Eat away that hard stuff that has been sitting out for weeks :) !! I'm a chocolate kinda gal!

10 Years!
Well here we are, 10 years of marriage!
God had a plan for us and what an AMAZING journey it has been. We are two of the most opposite people you could ever meet - but it works..keeps things interesting :)! After much back & forth we decided to go on a cruise to celebrate our anniversary. It was a great getaway and a fantastic way to relax. I am not hooked on cruising but we had a wonderful time together. We went to Mexico, swam in some caverns met new people, had some adventures by boat & taxi and ate a lot of great food!
For me some of the highlights were:
1. Jogging around the top of the boat, it felt awesome. A lady that sat at our table ran marathons & I have really been wanting to run one so I talked to her all about it. The next day I just had to get out and run so we ran on the top deck of the boat! My knee did great.
2. Swimming in the caverns. I was not going to do it, but they were all leaving so I jumped into the freezing water and joined my group. It was very still and dark & beautiful! J said he saw fish - so glad I didn't!
3. Driving jeeps on the Mexican Hwy - that is an experience all it's own!!
4. The beaches! So beautiful..our beaches here in TX are mud holes in comparison.
5. The boat, it was amazing & the stateroom service was top notch!
6. Just spending time w/ J.. we haven't had a whole lot of that this past year or so, so it was nice.
I am so thankful for my husband. He works so hard & he is faithful and committed to his family. He puts up w/ me & all my weaknesses - he put up w/ me on those flights when I really should have just been slapped j/k (I'm never flying again)!
We are so blessed. We have an incredible support system, wonderful kids, J is blessed w/ a good job and we have a nice home.

What "we"do :)
Well, because we are just different.
About 5years ago, maybe more, we stopped celebrating halloween. I grew up "celebrating" halloween - horror movies, haunted houses you name it - we pulled out all the stops. But J & I just came to a point where we felt for our own personal reasons that we didn't want to partake in this 'holiday' anymore and we were going to raise our family differently. Well, we are (esp. me) different to begin with so, it just kinda goes with the territory. Anyhow, it is amazing how many people attack you about choosing not to recognize this day. We are not out to preach anything to anyone, this is just the way we feel and it is our own personal convictions. Some people think we are doing our children such a disservice and "they are going to hate us" -as one guy put it "when they grow up". Give me a break, for not taking them trick or treating? Seriously, so everyone who goes to public school and celebrates halloween has no issues & none of them grow up to "hate" their parents, rrriight. It's funny, the things people say. I think it is because they don't understand and it bothers them..I don't know. BUT anyways, we always do something fun on halloween -because lets face it everyone is having a party and we are not going to hide away and make our children feel like weirdos! So this time we decided to go my moms house and have a huge fire and watch Ice Age 3 outside. My sister is in town and they don't celebrate it either so we all got together and had so much fun! It was really cool, definitely something we will do again & the kids all had a BLAST! The movie was really funny, the company was great, & we had a lot of yummy treats - the evening was perfect. The kids are exhausted and sleeping w/ great memories and a tummy full of sweets!

The Force
I am up making a "purse" cake for a Tea Party for C, so I thought I'd blog a little. (this cake spends a lot of time in the fridge & freezer before it can be finished)
This is E's team The Force! We decided to play Soccer through Keller Soccer Association. We've played w/ them before but it had been a year or so. E's team did very well, there are some talented boys on that team. After the first few games E had caught up and began contributing to the game much more than at first.
It has been a good season. E has grown as a soccer player and a boy. There was one day when he did NOT want to go to practice because there was a bully on the team. J had to work & couldn't be there w/ him for those practices and I couldn't watch him up close to know what was going on. I had the other 3 to keep an eye on. He wanted to quit- but you know, we all have to deal w/ bullies in life. All the way into adulthood. Some people never grow up. I felt this was something E needed to work through and not let some other person ruin something he enjoyed. And we called in Pappa Chewy to sit up where he practiced (for moral support). Thank-you so much Pappa for doing that. It might not of seemed like much, but your presence really made E feel better about being there. We Love you & appreciate you sooo much! Everything was great after he dealt w/ that. This Saturday is his last game & then it's on to Flag Football! It's gonna be good!
Love E's shorts..they are crooked,:). and can the grass be any more yellow?
seriously, these are the worst photos ever (photography 101 - don't take pics in direct sunlight) BUT it proves a good point, people will pay no matter what for a picture of their kid. I know I am complaining - but it's late & I could have done a heck of a lot better on those pics & it'd be FREE!
BTW, E looks so cute! I LOVE that kid. Look at his little smirk.

Blue Angels
R's hair was blowing into a moustache :) hehe !
Went to see the Blue Angels yesterday. I got to say, I get so excited watching them! The maneuvers they can do with those planes are just incredible. I can't help myself, they just make me go "whooohooo" & "awesome" -can't contain my gasps and cheers!! I love the sound they make when the zip past you. I grew up watching the Thunderbirds & going to the airshows. Yesterday because of our schedule, we decided not to pay the $20 bucks to park & walk the grounds. So we just pulled along some cow pasture across from Cabela's & watched it from there - those guys are AWESOME ! :)
